Dr. Kashif Hayat is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Interdisciplinary Research Academy, Zhejiang Shuren University. He secured his Ph.D. degree in Ecology from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in 2022. He got the Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC-Type A1) from 2017-2022 and studied at SJTU (China) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Pei Zhou. Based on his research accomplishments, he received the SJTU Outstanding International Student Award in 2021.

He has 47 publications in well-reputed peer-reviewed journals in the field of Environmental Sciences and Health, including Bioresource Technology, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Environmental Pollution, Critical Reviews in Environmental Science and Technology, Journal of Cleaner Production, Science of the Total Environment, Chemosphere, Environmental Science and Pollution Research, Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety etc. He has a total impact factor of 302.07 with an h-index of 20. His work mainly focuses on 1) phytoremediation of potentially toxic metals; 2) fate, transport, mechanisms and environmental behavior of heavy metals; 3) Plant stress physiology; 4) Plant-microbe interactions; 5) Soil salinity and phytomanagement of soil salinization.
